Somebody (sorry I can't remember your name) asked me recently how I made my hands out of clay. Start with a lollipop shape of clay about the size that you need for the hand and arm. Then just use your finger tips and thumb to pull out the fingers from the clay. It doesn't have to be perfect to start with, just get them about the right shape and you can always take excess clay away.
