Brighton is witnessing one of its biggest days of protest. Far-right group South East Patriots began gathering at Brighton train station from noon, marching through the city centre calling for stronger border controls, enforcement of immigration laws and deportation of illegal immigrants. Their speakers included UKIP leader Nick Tenconi and Siobhan Whyte, mother of murder victim Rhiannon Whyte. They were met by thousands. British boxer Anthony Joshua was injured in a car accident in Nigeria, which resulted in the deaths of two other individuals.
