Opening Shot: “January 10, 1985. Hawkins, Indiana.” In a wintery scene, a person in a yellow hazmat suit chases something from the Upside Down with a flashlight and a torch. The person thinks he’s obliterated what looks like a tiny demogorgon with the torch, but the ashes settle in the snow and reconstitute themselves as something else.
That said, Eric Robles didn't want "Stranger Things: Tales from '85" to look and feel like an old Saturday morning cartoon. Like its parent series, the spin-off is a horror show that deals with subject matter that isn't suitable for kids, and the creator didn't want to mislead viewers. As he told GamesRadar:
The animated series, "Stranger Things: Tales From '85," premieres Thursday on Netflix. It's set in 1985 between Seasons 2 and 3 of the flagship show.
Taking place between the events of Seasons 2 and 3, Tales From ‘85 shows Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max as they face new monsters from the Upside Down. They’ll also be joined by a new character, Nikki Baxter. Let’s get to the reviews, some of which address my concerns about the series.
